COVID Update

Last year DISSO had to endure many weeks of cancellations due to the weather.

This year, the COVID-19 virus has brought an abrupt and unfortunate end to DISSO’s 2019-20 season.  All the senior retirement venues where Dimensions In Sound and The Studio Orchestra had performances scheduled for the remainder of this season have cancelled the performances and remain in lockdown.

With the situation not likely to get better in the coming weeks, and with continued restrictions on group gatherings over a certain size, the Board of Directors has decided to officially cancel DISSO’s remaining 2019-20 season.

As for the band’s scheduled summer performances, The Badger Honor Flight Welcome Home Celebration on May 9th has already been cancelled.  There is no word yet on whether the UW Hoofers’ Commodore’s Ball in July will be cancelled or rescheduled, or whether the band’s outdoor concert at Oakwood West will take place.  Many summer events like Summerfest and BratFest have already postponed the events until fall.

The Board has also decided that instead of having an end of season potluck in May, we will plan on having the potluck in fall prior to the start of our new season.

It is sad and unfortunate to end our season early, but it’s important that we all stay safe and healthy.
